Ariston Sucks Customer Reviews and Feedback

From Everything.Sucks

Ariston Thermo SpA is an Italian corporation that produces heating systems and related products, marketed mainly under the Ariston, Chaffoteaux, Elco, Racold, Régent, Atag, NTI, HTP, Cuenod, Ecoflam and Thermowatt brands.

Muhammad shares his disappointing experience on productreview.co.au, "Ariston is an absolutely RUBBISH brand. Pathetic quality products, unprofessional staff, and useless warranty which is almost impossible to claim. We bought Oven model DN62X from Harvey Norman in 2018, and it started giving us trouble from the first year like inconsistent temperature, poor quality oven gasket, very noisy fan, etc. Will NEVER recommend any Ariston products considering its rubbish quality and warranty."

"ariston unvented water heaters - have failed so many times within weeks -always same issue leaking from "d"flange - no response from customer service or sales manager - im losing money removing/returning to merchants - then supplying sofar a more reliable unit, customers are not happy, installers not happy - so save time/money steer clear of this company !!!!"

"Be careful before installing this product our boiler installed end of October 2020 after two months boiler bursted really badly and severely damaged the property, according to Engineer they provided said it was manufactured fault but company itself is not accepting the fault even though their engineer changed the internal part of boiler and not happy to pay any compensation or sorry. Think deep and say no to Ariston so you don’t need to stay with no water and heating like we did for 3 days"

brian sharp says

"Ariston cube thermostat the biggest waste of money I've spent. The Boiler is OK but the thermostat is a waste of space every time the electric goes off I spend an hour trying to put it back on line. It appears to go around in circles and comes back a fault occurred try again. After checking signal strength (100%) connections and whatever else I've given up tomorrow down to B&Q plumber is fitting a new mechanical one so no remote control of heating, back to the good old days with reliability."

Paul Want says

"We bought a brand new, fresh off the builders, house 8 yrs ago which was fitted with an Ariston Boiler. We have had it serviced every year and after the warranty ran out (5yrs) thats when things started to go wrong- very wrong. Expansion bladder failed, internal pipes and fittings failed, pressure drops for no reason. DON'T bother with Ariston service dept as they WILL ignore you or get you to sign up to a service plan. At the first opportunity, the Ariston wil be replaced. All in all, don't waste good money on an Ariston."

Kirsten Shortall says

"I purchased an Ariston Boiler 2 yrs ago, last week the expansion boiler blew, I contacted the people who installed it and was advised due to it being under warranty I had to contact Ariston, I phoned Ariston and was fobbed off with an excuse that I didnt get it serviced so it wasn't covered, even though the intial engineer who came out said it shouldn't of blown and this wouldn't be checked under a service anyway. I have been left with no heat/water for nearly a week, I live on my own and am relying on my 80 yr old father for shower and washing facilities which is unacceptable especially around these times, I ALSO THINK THEY SHOULD HAVE A LOOK AT THEIR REVIEWS AND HOW THE BAD REVIEWS OUTDO THE GOOD REVIEWS!!!"

Jayne Denton says

"I bought a house with an Ariston boiler. The boiler had three years left on the warranty and to ensure the validity of the warranty I booked a service at a cost of approximately £90. The engineer came, took the cover off of the boiler, looked at the hot water tank and said that the Hive had been installed incorrectly and he could not service the boiler; although he did offer to correct the fault at a cost of £50 per hour and said the job would take four hours. I declined his offer and called British Gas who corrected the fault at no cost. I then forwarded the paperwork to Ariston and requested that the boiler be serviced. To my surprise I was told that I had to pay again even though the engineer had been in my house for about ten minutes and left me without a working boiler (he turned it off without informing me why). This is corporate greed at its worst. I have asked Ariston to escalate this, it was a 'manager' who made this decision but as yet have received no reply."

John Mckeeman says

"Just called ariston warranty department as my boiler has a faulty got told basically I don’t have a warranty as the previous owner never registered the warranty boiler is not even a year old"

Steve Perry says

"I am an installer who has installed a few of the class one range.
You can get them with either an 8 year or 12 year warranty, which was a great selling point, especially for landlords!
12 years cover sounds great!

I’ve installed about 7 of them. I’ve had to replace 2 faulty cube smart stats which is here not there- they no replaced them no problem.

The reason I give a 1 star review is regarding the warranty and customer service. After all, the only reason you are really going to go for an Ariston is because of that amazing 12 year warranty.

As an installer, which ever product I suggest to the client, represents me in the long run.
If there are issues with the product, I’m associated with it.

So, as an installer- waiting on the phone to Ariston technical for over 20 minutes only to be told that you’ll be called back, and that call back doesn’t arrive for another 45 mins, (Vaillant, baxi, ideal etc - I’m speaking to somebody within 5 mins and I’ll have the info I need within 10 mins) - I have wasted over an hour wasted of my time because the customer shouldn’t have to pay for that.

When a newly installed boiler did develop a fault, I reported it immediately (Thursday morning). I was told that it would take up to 3 days for an engineer to visit (ok- not great, but it is what it is).
Heard nothing, so I called them back the following Monday- they hadn’t even reported the call out to a local firm to fix it! So on the 5th day- the customer still has no hot water or heating.... Wednesday- the call out is finally being dealt with.
The company Investigating the call out told me that Ariston hadn’t contacted them until Monday.

As an installer, I’m embarrassed and have tried my best to keep the customer happy in the mean time. Why should that be on me?

So, my solution is to become an accredited Ariston installer- through necessity, not want- as I don’t want to be associated with broken down boilers, that I installed, that aren’t being seen to for 6 days... I hate the prospect of unhappy customers... who needs that stress!

Apart from that, the boilers are actually ok! They just need to sort their customer service out- and good customer service is absolutely vital for both the installer and the customer in this game.

Rant over 😬"

Mr AMC says

"DO NOT BUY AN ARISTON BOILER, NO MATTER THE POSITIVE REVIEWS BEING SUBMITTED ON THIS PAGE.

MY OWN PERSONAL EXPERIENCE IN DEALING WITH THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAM AND VISITING ENGINEERS IS EXTREMELY POOR. FURTHERMORE, THEIR WARRANTY IS NOT WORTH THE PAPER IT IS WRITTEN ON AND THEY WILL FIND A WAY TO VOID YOUR WARRANTY AND POCKET THE £100 CALL OUT FEE.

I HAVE SINCE SPOKEN WITH OTHER PEOPLE WHO ARE IN THE SAME POSITION AS MYSELF, QUITE SIMPLY OUT OF POCKET WITH A PRODUCT WHICH IS NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE, BASICALLY THEIR SYSTEMS ARE CRAP!!. I NORMALLY INSTALL VALIANT BOILERS IN MY PROPERTIES AND WAS SWAYED BY A HEATING ENGINEER, WORST MISTAKE TO MAKE AND IT HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT UNRELIABLE AND A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY! ... AVOID AND BUY AT YOUR PERIL, THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER BRANDS WHICH SIMPLY ARE HEAD AND SHOULDERS ABOVE ARISTON!."

Trevor Lyle-Toal says

"We purchased an Ariston Boiler in October 2018, to replace the old boiler which had broken down and was no longer cost effective to repair.
We were drawn to Ariston for the 8 year warranty that was supposed to give us “peace of mind” for the next 8 years!
16 months later, the boiler developed a fault, water was cascading from the boiler and when we contacted Ariston they first denied our claim as it was out of warranty! We explained we had an 8 year warranty and again were Emphatically that Ariston only offer 2 year warranty. We again stated the boiler was only 16 month old eventually once we provided proof they agreed to send someone out.
1st visit was cancelled on morning of visit
2nd Visit was no show either
3rd visit the engineer arrived and advised Ariston of the parts required.
Several days we requested new repair date, was told they were Waiting in parts from Switzerland arriving.
Several days later still no date, they sent a local engineer out who supposedly had the correct part, except it wasn’t!
Eventually after Further formal complaints Ariston agreed to replace the boiler!
New boiler was installed and the next day Loss of pressure, Ariston advises how to pressurise the system. Since the new boiler has been installed it has lost pressure multiple times, and is now leaking again!
Nearly 2 weeks later and Ariston still have not repaired it.

DO NOT BUY ARISTON BOILERS, DON’T BE FOOLED BY THEIR WARRANTIES, THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND REPAIRS DEPARTMENT ARE A JOKE AND I WOULD ADVISE YOU TO CHOOSE A DIFFERENT BOILER MANUFACTURER"

James says

"I purchased an Ariston 30 L water heater 2.5 years ago and now it has stopped working. I called Ariston who say the 3-year warranty is only valid for leaks. so, they give me the name of an approved engineer in the area. The engineer is not working at the moment so I have no hot water. This product should have lasted longer than this. The warranty is not worth the paper it is written on. Ariston heaters are unreliable and their after-care service is useless. I would never buy an Ariston product again and do not recommend them."

Neil Donohoe says

"Absolutely disgusting service regarding a boiler, over a month during winter with no heating or hot water. Eventually got in contact with a approved engineer who came out made a diagnosis and did not return my calls regarding follow up action. (gone on holiday for two weeks Ariston say). Tried there next approved agent rang and left a message, rang several times no answer. Ariston say its not there problem that there approved agents don't come out to repair customer's fault boilers. SO WHAT DO I DO NOW ARISTON"

Kelly says

"Do not use this company avoid at all costs. We have a boiler in warranty and we are on day 8 of no hot water or heating in minus temperatures with 3 children in the house. Their customer service is shocking and they lie every time you speak to someone. They have left us tonight on a Friday saying they can’t do anything now will Monday."

Martha Hughes says

"I had a Glow Worm boiler for 25 years, never put a spanner on it and this piece of s***e has given up after 3 years.
Definitely would not recommend this product."

Malcolm Keen says

"If you want to change your boiler ever couple of years than buy an Ariston. We did and had nothing but trouble after just over a year of use.Ask any decent plumber if you can find one.

1/ Always check which boiler is being installed and dont just leave it to the heating engineer to decide. They can be money hungry and will buy the cheapest pile of rubbiish with the highest discount which they wont pass on to you.

2/ Look up the prices of boilers 1st looking at the higher end ones. Although they are more expensive they have a longer warranty period. Remember the old saying..buy cheap buy twice and also remember the heating engineers get these at trade prices 10-30 percent cheaper than you can.

We opted for an deal Logic plus with a 7 year warranty (if you get it seviced every year). This has lasted nearly 4 years so far with no problems at all."

Peter John Watkins says

"So finally got the money back today, the whole process has taken since March. What a dreadful after sales service, i would’nt buy a box of matches off this company."

New Customer says

"Ariston more like Aristoff , Cube S Net is problematic and App was connected but has dropped off again for the 3rd time.
Boiler set at 48 degrees Comfort and water still scalds Clas net one.
Not Very Happy."

Ehan says

"We have a Ariston E-Combi EVO 24 boiler installed Nov 2017 and only offering 2 years of warranty.
On the 3rd, year, it started to show error code 501 no flame detection (no pilot light). We had it serviced every year. There are two types of service (yearly service and a full strip down service). The servicing company saying the full strip down service is required every 3-5 years, however Ariston technical support is saying that the full strip down service is required every year - note the yearly service costs around 75-100£ while the full strip down service costs between 100-150£.

Now the engineer said, flame sensor and PCB needs to be replaced.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BRAND."

Tracie S says

"I was given the wrong part numbers despite sending photo and serial number of my heater. When I received the parts and realised this I sent them back but only received a partial refund as they parts had been opened. I messaged Ariston but my mail was ignored."

Norman Grieve says

"My static caravan has an Ariston Combi. I used their website's 'contact us' form to enquire about Hive heating controls but received no reply which for me says it all about the company!"
